green smoothie recipe + athleisure round-up

Top: H&M (similar) | Shorts: Nike | Shoes: Converse

I've been obsessed with this outfit lately! It's super easy and comfortable, but the top is cool and adds a little bit of an edgy, street style element. What I love is that this is an outfit that can take you from running errands to chilling at home to the gym, yet it isn't just your basic leggings and tank top combination.

In the spirit of these workout vibes, I wanted to share some of my favorite green smoothie recipes with you guys. I'm known for my love of green juices/smoothies. In fact, there was an ice-breaker at a work event where we had to say what our ideal 'last meal' would be and the first thing I thought of was a green juice. I probably sounded super pretentious saying that out loud and, honestly, it'd probably be mac + cheese and pie or Chick-fil-a but whatever....I still love a green juice.

Even if you don't have a cold-pressed juicer at home, you can still make a really good green drink by using your blender. Visually, the key to keeping your smoothie a bright, pretty green color (rather than a gloppy, brown mess) is to use light or colorless fruits. For instance, mixing blueberries into your smoothie with greens will definitely make it brown. Use fruits like banana, pineapple, mango, peach, orange, and pear instead.

My no-brainer green smoothie formula is this:

- 1 banana
- 1 handful of greens (spinach or kale, although spinach has a milder taste)
- A watery vegetable like cucumber or celery
- 1 handful of ice
- Mixture of fruits like pineapple, mango, peach, orange or pear
- Liquid such as water, almond milk, orange juice, apple juice, or coconut water

The specific recipe I like the best is:

- 1 banana
- 1 handful spinach
- 1-2 stalks of celery
- 1 handful of ice
- Frozen pineapple
- A mixture of almond milk and orange juice

Some of my other favorite green smoothies are Kimberly Snyder's Glowing Green Smoothie, Goop's Hula Hydrator Smoothie, and Martha Stewart's Green Lemonade. If you're short on time, don't have a blender, or any other excuse, definitely check out 8g tablets. They're packed full of greens in a little effervescent tablet that you just drop into a glass of water.

Whenever I have a good green smoothie, I always feel super motivated and ready to work out. I'm sure you guys are the same, so here's a little athleisure round-up for even more workout inspiration!

white satin camisole + poolside vibes

Happy Friday! I was supposed to go back to New York on Tuesday but really didn't feel like being in the snow so I extended my trip for another week. It must have been fate because, after I booked the new flight, my original flight was delayed like three times and then cancelled/rebooked twice.

So, if I hadn't rebooked, I would've been scheduled to go home two days after my initial flight and it would've been the worst flight ever as it leaves at 7:45 am, goes to Atlanta, then Savannah, then New York. I truly don't understand why there are two layovers in the state of Georgia. Crazy! Very grateful that I rebooked on my own and that I get another week in the warm weather.

A few weeks ago, I was on the hunt for a black, silk camisole with lace trim. For some reason, I couldn't find one anywhere but ended up finding this white Swiss dot one at Victoria's Secret. So far, I've liked pairing it with black skinny jeans and chunky knit cardigans with gold jewelry. Being in the warmer weather, I had the chance to pair it with some gauzy white shorts and a new gold necklace I got from Francesca's! I'm excited to keep finding new ways to style this piece.

round-up: 30 items under $30

I feel like I get a little thrill every time I see a cute item for sale under $30. There's something about that specific number that just feels like you're getting a really good deal. I've rounded up thirty items under $30, so click through and find something new for spring!

my 101 in 1001 goals

Happy mid-week! I've been seeing these kinds of '101 in 1001' posts for years now but, for some reason, never got around to doing one for myself. I thought it'd be fun to photograph my ASOS x Refinery29 jacket for this post because the back is embroidered to say "Sky's No Limit". That's sort of the perfect message, isn't it? Let me know if you have a 101 in 1001 list. I wanna see your goals!

Happy Saturday! Ready for some cute things?

I'm already thinking about my spring/summer wardrobe and am planning on making these long wrap dresses a staple. I love this navy one from Ganni and would style it with Vans, Converse, block heels, and wrap sandals.

In keeping with the French girl summer vibes, I'm loving this round basket bag. Round bags are a huge trend for 2018 and I think the basket versions are super cute. They are a kind of natural progression from the basket bags that were popular last summer.

I mentioned wearing Vans with maxi dresses above and these dusty rose ones are perfect for that. You could really pair them with just about anything! Obviously maxi dresses but also shorts and t-shirts or kick-flares and tank tops.

If you want to go ahead and get into the spring/summer vibes now, I highly suggest this Lollia bubble bath! The scent is apple blossom, jasmine, and rose which is like the perfect magical garden combination. Can you imagine this scent filling your bathroom? Heaven.

Do you guys follow Johanna Olsson? She does this thing where she will wear a super basic outfit (sweatshirt, sweatpants, etc.) but then throw on a super chic pair of sunglasses and she looks incredible. I feel like these yellow sunglasses from Reeva are that kind of pair. You could be wearing the most boring outfit of all time, but these sunglasses would make you look like a street style star.

Have you seen The Florida Project? I watched it a few weeks ago (finally) and absolutely loved it. I grew up near Kissimmee, where its set (although I grew up in a totally different environment) so it was really, really interesting. The performances were incredible and the storyline was very authentic to a subset Central Florida. The big reason I included it on this list though is because of the candy-colored cinematography that Sean Baker is so famous for. The vibe is very nostalgic and magical and pleasing to the eyes.
