Highlights from NYFW Fall 2016 include my best friend's videos from the Zac Posen show, the library prep looks from Ralph Lauren, Gucci Westman's makeup at Rag & Bone, the street style girls who opted to bring Paris insouciant chic to New York, the music at Hood by Air, and THIS.
It was interesting to hear Jack & Lazaro's explanation of their inspiration this season. They mentioned being inspired by process art which is something that I'm fascinated by, as evidenced by my obsession with the Gutai Group.
With regards to my wish list, I'm looking at pieces that have connotations of adventures on ancient islands. They fall under a sort-of bohemian minimalism umbrella that belongs in white Grecian villas or on a boat somewhere with a mango smoothie. I want to wear these silk Monse trousers with a white Tibi top and Chloe sandals, then switch out the day clothes for a Self Portrait dress to wear to go eat caprese salad and nurse my sunburn with Korres After-Sun Cooling Gel.
This may seem irrelevant to the bundled up looks from NYFW street style, but humor me. Many of my favorite looks had inklings of bohemian minimalism---whether in the neutral color palettes or embroidered motifs.
