Dream Weekend: March in L.A.

In proper L.A. spirit, I would wake up early for a run, a hike, or a class at Metamorphosis. Then, I'd have a green juice from Pressed Juicery and go for lunch at Sqirl where I'd have a tomato jam sandwich, Green Goddess salad, and vanilla bean lemonade. I'm an East Coast girl 95% of the time but when it comes to food, I'm thoroughly California. After lunch, I'd go shopping on Abbot Kinney, picking up beauty things from Aesop and Caudalie, t-shirts from Current/Elliott, a leather bag from Cuyana, sunglasses from Illesteva, and paper goods from Urbanic Paper. After shopping, I'd go to Gjelina for a pizza with wild nettles, garlic confit, and cheese. Seriously L.A., you have the best food. After dinner, I'd relive one of my favorite college traditions and go for a night bike ride.

On Sunday morning, I'd start with another college tradition: the early morning ocean swim. The best thing is to get in the water just as the sun is coming up and get out when the sunrise is complete. After the beach, I'd have Coconut Kefir from Moon Juice and a pastry from Huckleberry Cafe. After breakfast I'd do something quite out of line with my typical travel philosophy: the Paramount studio tour. Even though it is really touristy, I love film too much not to do a studio tour once. After the tour, I'd have a late lunch / early dinner at Lemonade. It would be a feast of tomato-mozzarella sandwich, truffle mac and cheese, cucumber mint lemonade, and a fresh fruit tart. After dinner, I'd see a film or stop by a local event. Later, I'd sample the overnight menu at The Standard before falling asleep.
