The girls from Who What Wear published a book awhile back called What To Wear, Where which provides advice and outfit ideas with regards to dressing for various occasions, from an art gallery visit to a kids' birthday party. It's fun to go through the book and plan out your own looks for each of the circumstances, so that's what I'll be doing on the blog now every so often.
I decided that the first occasion should be a trip to the movie theater. Considering that movie theater visits are regularly part of my weekend schedule, I've had plenty of time to ponder the perfect theater outfit.
Oversized sweater, black leggings, lace-up flats.
Since the theaters are so cold, opt for an oversized sweater to stay cozy. Keep the bottom half of the look sleek with black leggings and lace-up flats. For a healthy movie snack, pack a LaraBar in your favorite dessert flavor.
Cardigan coat, monochrome matching t-shirt, printed leggings.
For a more literal interpretation of athleisure, choose a pair of athletic, printed leggings to liven up an otherwise monochromatic look. For the top half, choose a t-shirt and long cardigan in a color that is accented in the leggings. In your bag, pack a Suja green juice with a little baggie of cheddar cheese cubes, grapes, and apple slices.
Long sleeve black t-shirt, boyfriend jeans, ballet flats.
Go the route of insouciant Parisiennes and wear a simple black tee with comfortable boyfriend jeans and ballet flats. This look easily transitions from the dark theater to the street. For a snack, hide a bag of Himalayan Pink Salt Popcorn in your tote.
