I love reading "Day in the Life" posts and even did one of my own on the old blog. This was a fairly laid-back, uneventful day---the kind that you don't often see publicized on blogs. Whether the day is laid-back or super exciting, I love having a look at the routines and lifestyles of others as there always seems to be some new idea to take away.
I woke up later than usual today (even for a weekend) because I was in such a deep sleep! After laying in bed for a few minutes, I got up and immediately put on my workout clothes.
Before doing anything else, I have a little drink of water with a few tablespoons of apple cider vinegar. I am sure you've heard the benefits of drinking ACV in the morning but if not, here is a quick list.. Next, I do a quick, 5-minute ab routine to start the day.
For breakfast, I have a slice of toast with peanut butter, banana slices, and honey. I also go ahead and have a pre-workout protein shake containing strawberries, coconut water, almond milk, oats, honey, coconut protein powder, almond butter, and bee pollen.
While I let my breakfast settle, I spend a few minutes working on a blog post.
Around this time, I start my workout. This day began with an arms and abs routine followed by a 20-minute yoga flow.
After working out, I take a shower. Pretty self-explanatory, but I use Christophe Robin shampoo for my hair, c. Booth milk cleanser, and coconut oil as a moisturizer.
Since it's a lazy Sunday, I take a bit of time for guilty pleasure television viewing on Hulu. No shame, no shame at all.
At noon, I start prepping lunch. Today, I'm having Hodo Soy Burgers with Sweet Chile Mayonnaise, bean sprouts, peppers, and sesame carrot slaw. These aren't the typical flavors I go for, but it's always fun to try something new. On the side, I have oven roasted potatoes.
After lunch, I spend some time reading and relaxing.
In the early afternoon, I go out for a cup of frozen yogurt. This combination happened to be particularly good--coconut, pink lemonade, and pistachio with all sorts of weird toppings.
Once I get back home, I take off my makeup and put on my favorite fluffy robe. I read for a little while and clean up around the house before taking a really amazing nap.
In the late afternoon, I roll out my mat and do a quick, 20-minute ballet workout. I love any and every routine from Mary Helen Bowers.
For dinner, I have steamed vegetable gyoza and steamed broccoli with pink himalayan salt and nutritional yeast.
After dinner, I do a bedtime yoga flow to settle down for sleep.
My evening skincare routine starts with micellar water to ensure that all of my makeup is removed. I typically use the Glossier Milky Jelly cleanser at night, but today I use the Murad MHA/BHA Exfoliating Cleanser with my HydraSonic cleansing brush followed by Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate and Murad moisturizer.
I make my own tea by stirring cinnamon and honey into boiling water. This combination is really good for your skin and combating inflammation. It also happens to be really delicious.
Before bed, I start listening to a podcast but usually fall asleep only five minutes in.
