Can you imagine a world in which bloggers didn't write copious fall fashion posts between the months of September and November? I suppose it wouldn't really feel like fall if we didn't see cable knits and riding boots plastered across social media, accessorized with books and brown leaves and Starbucks coffees.
I'm being facetious but, in all honestly, fall is my favorite season for weather and for dressing. I'm especially excited for autumnal fashion this year because of brands like Sézane and Madewell whose looks are making me want chai lattes (warm, not iced for once!) and old movies.
When styling fall outfits, I've been thinking a lot about the look as a whole, from makeup and hair to the destination. I've put together three outfits below that I think are timeless with a little modern twist as well as the makeup look and where to wear it.
THE LOOK: Cream cable-knit turtleneck, dark wash skinny jeans, rosy ankle boots.
THE MAKEUP: Dewy skin, rosy eyelids and cheeks, light mascara.
WHERE TO FIND HER: Heading out of the city for a day trip to Dia:Beacon.
THE LOOK: Black floral blouse, white skinny jeans, leather loafers.
THE MAKEUP: Champagne eyelids, bold brow, nude lips.
WHERE TO FIND HER: Having fried halloumi and a mint tea at Cafe Select.
THE LOOK: Black turtleneck, distressed jeans, black ankle boots.
THE MAKEUP: Matte skin, naked eyelids, red lips.
WHERE TO FIND HER: Buying books and having a coffee at Housing Works.
