As you all know, I love day-in-the-life posts and videos. Since I love them so much and we're in the middle of my favorite season, I thought it'd be fun to do a fall themed day-in-the-life. This past weekend has really been a perfect autumnal one, but the following was specifically recorded on Sunday.
The first thing I do when I wake up is head into the bathroom and start my skincare routine. In the morning, I start with the Murad Time Release Acne Cleanser (which is so effective) then use my favorite Shiseido Ibuki Softening Concentrate which not only smells amazing (my friend said "Oh my god, it smells like rich people's houses") but also helps all other products to work more effectively on your skin. Then, I finish with La Roche-Posay Toleriane Double Repair Moisturizer to protect my skin from the sun.
After my skincare routine, I do a quick Ballet Beautiful workout for abs, outer thighs, and inner thighs. It's an easy workout that I can do anywhere, plus it only takes about twenty minutes. I like to do this everyday in order to lengthen and tone my muscles.
Then, I have an easy breakfast of fruit, scrambled eggs, and a croissant with orange juice.
Then, I spend some time catching up on my favorite blogs. As always, I love Gal Meets Glam and The Stripe, but lately I've gotten really into Lonestar Southern. After reading through my blog feed, I'll get onto Young Sophisticate to see what posts need work and make some edits.
Then, I get ready for the day with just a bit of makeup. These days, I'm just using a CC cream and a bit of concealer plus Benefit Roller Lash mascara, a bit of bronzer on the apples of my cheeks, and lip tint. I get dressed super cozy because the weather has been quite cold. The go-to look is black jeans, a sweater, ankle boots, and my big teddy coat.
Next, I went up to St. Patrick's Cathedral to meet my best friend who had gone there for mass. I'd never been before, so we explored inside for awhile and I lit a candle (something I've always wanted to do). The architecture was incredible and reminded me of all the research I had to do on Romanesque versus Gothic cathedrals in college.
After lighting our candle, we went across the street to Saks which was a winter wonderland. The whole cosmetics hall was filled with sparkling lights and there were endless options for beautiful Christmas gifts.
We saw the two outfits below at Valentino and agreed that we needed to buy the looks off the mannequins so that I could wear the outfit on the left and Caroline could wear the outfit on the right.
Caroline suggested we go have a late lunch at Fred's, so we went down the street to Barney's. Before we ate, I smelled some amazing Cire Trudon candles and now need to buy the Lumière scent.
At Fred's, we had such a gorgeous view! We both got bowls of chicken soup and I had ginger ale on the side because it's the perfect cold weather pairing. Highly recommend Fred's if you're ever uptown.
After that, we did some browsing at Zara and Bloomingdale's before stopping in at a Starbucks for cozy drinks. I had the holiday spice flat white with a cranberry-orange scone and relished the fact that they were playing Taylor Swift's discography.
