Desert Island Beauty Picks

You know that one ice-breaker question "What three items would you take to a desert island?" Of course, as an INTJ, my answers tend to be super practical so the first answer is always sunscreen.

I know a lot of beauty bloggers talk about their must-haves and the top three to five items they'd want to be stranded with and it made me imagine this glam, desert island scenario like something you'd see in an editorial. Super bronzed skin, flushed cheeks, salty beach hair...yes? If you're going to be stranded on a desert island, you might as well make sure you look like Brooke Shields so here's my six desert island beauty picks to give you the stranded beach look without all of the problems.

Cle de Peau Beaute Cream Blush
For those flushed cheeks, use your fingers to dab a bit of Cle de Peau's cream blush on your cheekbones and across the bridge of the nose. This can also double as an eyeshadow!

Ouai Wave Spray
For the best beach hair, spray this into damp hair and give it a rough tousle with your hands. Add more texture by using your hands to scrunch the hair. Extra credit if your hair is already wet from the sea.

Milk Makeup Face Gloss
For that perfect, dewy look, try Milk's face gloss. This is more intense than a cream or powder highlighter and applying to the cheekbones, tip of the nose, cupid's bow, and the middle of the forehead for a faux post-sunbathing glisten.

St. Tropez Classic Gradual Tanning Lotion
To look as though you've actually been sunbathing, I recommend St. Tropez's classic gradual tanning lotion. The consistency is moisturizing and silky rather than the sticky mousse versions, so this doesn't feel or smell anything like a typical self-tanner yet it produces the prettiest, bronzed glow.

Too Faced Lip Injection Extreme
For a healthier version of sun-exposed, slightly chapped lips, try Too Faced's Lip Injection Extreme which will plump your lips up just enough to still look natural.

Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick
Finish off the look with the Bobbi Brown Shimmer Brick. You can apply this to your eyelids or your cheeks for a super bronzed look suited for some sort of beach/jungle goddess.
