autumnal sights in the city

Don’t you love New York in the fall? It makes me want to buy school supplies. I would send you a bouquet of newly-sharpened pencils if I knew your name and address.

You all have seen You've Got Mail, right? That scene in the beginning where Joe tells Kathleen he'd like to send her a bouquet of freshly sharpened pencils, I'm sure, has charmed many fellow literary, fall-loving girls like myself into re-watching the movie every year when the leaves begin to change.

He's right, though! There's nothing like autumn and there's nothing like autumn in New York. When the leaves change and the air gets chilly, there is an endless number of cute things to do to celebrate the season.

The weather may be giving us an early taste of winter, but I'm still trying my best to get in all of the cute fall activities I can. Last week, I took a little walk around some neighborhoods in downtown Brooklyn before the Halloween decorations disappeared. My best friend is coming to visit this weekend, so I think we'll have some seasonal treats, maybe wander around the Upper West Side, and wear a bunch of cute sweaters.

What are you guys doing to celebrate the season this fall?
