My Spring Skin Care Routine

Now that winter is over, I've made a few updates to my skin care routine to combat the impending warm weather and humidity. It's only by coincidence that my spring skin care routine consists of products with white, green, and pink packaging.

Double Cleanse | Sephora Coconut Face Wipes +  Fresh Soy Face Cleanser
My routine starts with double cleansing. I remove any makeup or debris with my favorite Sephora Coconut Face Wipes then follow up with a treated cleanser. Since I've started using a retinoid, I switched to this gentle cleanser which smells like cucumbers. I use a little drop each morning and evening.

Tone | Fresh Rose Floral Toner
I don't often use toner, but I had a deluxe sample of the rose toner from Fresh, so I've been using it on a cotton round every so often. If you like the smell of roses, you'll love this.

Serum | The Ordinary Buffet Serum
I've written an in-depth review of my products from The Ordinary and I'm still loving them. I still use this serum day and night and love the results I'm seeing. My skin feels brighter and has a healthy glow.

Retinoid | The Ordinary Advanced Retinoid 2%
I will be honest and say that I've reached the 2-3 week period where retinoid can draw out your skin's toxins and result in a breakout. Just as expected, this retinoid breakout consists of small bumps rather than large, painful cystic blemishes so it is manageable and able to be covered up nicely. This kind of breakout should disappear shortly and leave behind glowing skin.

Moisturizer | Biossance 100% Squalane Oil + Weleda Skin Food
I moisturize with a drop of Weleda Skin Food emulsified between my hands so that it's a little less sticky and easier to spread. I've also used Peter Thomas Roth's Cloud Cream which I adore and will likely buy after Skin Food runs out. After moisturizing my face and neck, I use a little Biossance squalane oil on any dry spots.

Masks | Fresh Rose Face Mask, Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask, and Caudalie Instant Detox Mask
I've been rotating through a couple of masks lately. Usually, I mask once a week and pick the product based on what my skin needs. If my skin feels oily or grimy, I use the Omorovicza Deep Cleansing Mask. If I'm breaking out, I use Caudalie's Instant Detox Mask. If I feel like my skin is dry, I use the Fresh Rose Face Mask.

Mist | Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herbs & Rosewater
I'm still using the Mario Badescu Facial Spray multiple times per day. I use it to prep my face for makeup, to set my makeup, and if I just need a little bit of hydration. This is definitely one of the products that I plan on continuing to re-purchase time after time.
