a few fall favorites

I think we can all agree that fall is the best time of year and, although its already mid-October, I still have so many fun things in mind for the season. I can't wait to drink hot apple cider at Union Square, take cliché walks through Central Park when the leaves turn orange, and have apple strudel at Café Sabarsky on the Upper East Side.

In the meantime, I'm sharing a few of my fall favorites ranging from clothes and beauty to music and treats.

cozy teddy coat
Get it here at H&M.
I've been dying to find a teddy coat for the longest time! After creating my fall/winter capsule wardrobe a few weeks ago, I decided now was finally the time to get one and I just so happened to find the perfect piece at H&M of all places. I've got to say, H&M has really been great lately and I adore this oatmeal colored teddy coat. I already have a camel coat that I love but I wanted something a little more unique to switch out when I want a different look. I especially can't wait to pair it with the item below!

navy baker boy hat
So, I went to the H&M store to see if they carried the teddy coat I saw online. I had the intention of getting the coat, a beret, and a neutral-colored scarf, but they didn't have the coat so I was left on the hunt for a beret and scarf. I ended up liking the beret, but I tried this baker boy hat on and absolutely loved it! The little gold details and the navy color are perfect for adding a bit of interest to my outfits. Now, I just need the weather to cool down so I can wear it with my striped tees and teddy coat.

bourbon maple candle
Get it here from White Barn.
I mentioned this candle in my home fragrance haul, but I just had to put it in my fall favorites. I cannot get enough of this scent! I didn't expect to like it when I went to smell it in the store because I hate bourbon but I instantly fell in love. The three-wick candle is so great because it truly fills the room with long-lasting scent.

pumpkin pecan waffle room spray
Also mentioned in my haul, we picked up several room sprays. They're all great, but I've been especially partial to the Pumpkin Pecan Waffle. It just smells like a cozy, autumnal Sunday, like you're cooking waffles in the kitchen on a rainy morning.

pumpkin latte socks
Get them here at J.Crew
I stopped in at J.Crew and when I saw these socks, I had to get them. I needed a new pair of trouser socks to wear when the weather gets cold and I'm really not a fan of boring ones, so I'm happy these jumped out at me. It's hard to find a pair of socks that are cute and fun but not too crazy and still pretty neutral. These are a pretty light gray with cute little lattes and pumpkins on them. They seriously make me so happy, I'm having trouble taking them off.

maison margiela 'jazz club' fragrance
Get it here at Nordstrom
I've loved this perfume for awhile now but I think it's the perfect scent for fall. While it is technically a men's cologne, I think it works really well for women, too. The scent evokes the ambiance of a Brooklyn jazz club with notes of musk, vanilla, tonka bean, vetiver, and tobacco with a bit of pink pepper, neroli, clary sage, and rum. It's just warm and deep and makes you feel cozy.

victoria's secret weightless shea body oil
Buy this similar product at The Body Shop.
This is another product I've had for awhile and I hate to say it, but I can't find it anywhere to buy. However, there are some similar products at The Body Shop and L'Occitane. You guys, this oil smells so good. The scent is warm and the oil absorbs into your skin really quickly. I love putting it on as soon as I get out of the shower as a base to hold onto any other fragrance I may use.

jurlique nutri-define eye contour balm
Get it here at Dermstore.
I was thinking about adding an eye cream to my nighttime skin routine and found this one in my product stash. This is a super hydrating eye cream with ingredients like alfalfa seed (to even skin tone), licorice root (to soothe, hydrate, and brighten), silver ear mushroom (to draw and retain moisture), and a Biosome5 technology which nourishes your skin with antioxidants. I particularly love this eye cream because it feels good on my sensitive skin and doesn't sting the eye area.

will & grace reboot
I remember watching Will & Grace with my parents when it was originally on and thinking it was so funny, even as an elementary and middle schooler. I'm quite wary about reboots, especially now that every single show seems to get one and they're never that good, but this has not disappointed! It feels like the show never ended and just naturally picked up in 2017. All of the characters are still so funny and while there are millennial jokes, they're not typically as forced and stupid as other shows make them.

two cozy playlists
I'm pretty picky when it comes to music, so finding pre-made playlists is tough. It's especially tough to find ones I like for fall because I'm not going to listen to any playlist with the song "Ho Hey". It's just not going to happen, sorry. But, I've been listening to two playlists this season that I've really been enjoying.

The first is The Everygirl Listens: Backyard Dinner Party which doesn't necessarily sound like a traditional fall playlist but it has great classics by Charles Aznavour, Frank Sinatra, and Nick Drake as well as newer songs by Ray Lamontagne, Belle & Sebastian, and Feist.

The second is a playlist I found a long time ago on 8tracks and transferred to Spotify. It's called Let's Go to Georgetown and features artists like The Kooks, Andrew Bird, and Vampire Weekend. All of the songs just have a sort-of college campus vibe, which is very autumnal.

vegan chocolate chip scones
Find the recipe here at Yoga Journal.
I've been told that these are my best baked goods yet and I can't say that I disagree. I got the recipe from this Chloe Coscarelli cookbook and tweaked it just slightly. I didn't have an orange on hand both times I've made these, so I omitted the zest (although I recommend using it if you can) and only used orange juice. Also, I let them bake for about 18 minutes rather than the suggested 15. Please, go make these because they're delicious and perfect for fall.
