trying on at zara and bloomingdales

With my best friend in town, I've been going out browsing the shops a lot this past week and wanted to share a few of the things I tried on. Please excuse the terrible lighting in these photos, as they were all taken on my phone in terribly lit dressing rooms. That's something I'll never understand---why would you want your dressing room lighting to be so terrible that your customers can barely see what they're wearing?!

But, I digress. There's a lot of cute stuff out there right now, particularly at Zara. The whole vibe is very shiny and vintage, therefore being perfect for the holidays.

I loved this faux fur coat from Ted Baker the moment I saw it. All of the pieces at Ted Baker are so cute and feminine, but I was really into this particular coat because it's a fun, unique piece to layer over an otherwise casual outfit.

Lately, I've been watching Terrace House religiously and this morning, one of the girls on the show, Minori, was wearing a cozy, oversized sweater. I noted that I wanted to find one just like it and happened upon this one at Zara. In the photo, it looks more mustard but in reality, it's more brown.

Next,I tried on this kimono-style dress with a pair of buckled sock boots. I didn't love the dress because the fit was a bit weird on me but it's very cute and could look great on someone else! The boots were great, though. Very comfortable and will add something special to any outfit.

I couldn't find this dress online to link, but I figured I'd post it anyway because you'll probably be able to find it in store. It was a super thin material and has a tie neck feature. It could be a little tighter in the waist for my taste, but if you like a looser fitting dress, this is a good pick.

My favorite outfit was this embroidered velvet dress and red block heel boots. The dress is a dark, emerald green with little pink accents. It's super comfortable (almost feels like pajamas) and would be absolutely perfect for a holiday party. I paired it with the red leather boots to add something a little edgy and adored the way it turned it out.
