Hello! How’s your October going so far? I’m making sure to celebrate it to the fullest extent possible this year, aiming to do something autumnal every single day. I shared the photo above on my Instagram recently and wanted to dive in deeper to the three elements because they’ve been some highlights of my fall season so far!
caramel apple cider
It’s easy for me to say my favorite fall drink is apple cider, specifically with a little bit of caramel. I recently made my own hot caramel apple cider at home and about died and went to heaven. I’ll admit, I didn’t have the right ingredients on hand to make a proper caramel sauce, so I improvised (I actually used a little bit of almond butter in it) and also made a coconut whipped cream topping. For an easier version, buy some cider from the store and heat it up. Top with Cool Whip and a drizzle of prepared caramel sauce, like the kind you use for dipping apples.
callie’s hot little cinnamon biscuit
I’ve been really into using biscuits as my cobbler topping lately, so I had some on hand when I saw this recipe on the Draper James blog one night. I immediately whipped up the cinnamon butter for the biscuits and it was so good. This is such an easy fall treat to make, especially if you happen to have Pillsbury Grands or leftover homemade biscuits on hand.
southern living october issue
I really like the fall issues of Souther Living. In fact, I recently checked out the 2017 September and October issues before this year’s October issue hit stands. When it did, I instantly snatched it up because of the gorgeous cover (see above)! Definitely get your hands on this issue if you can because it has so many great ideas for celebrating the season.
