When I was growing up, one of the highlights of the year was back-to-school shopping. For some reason, buying outfits right before the start of sixth grade is the most vivid back-to-school shopping memory in my mind. My mom and I went to the mall in our city and I loaded up on jeans and tops from American Eagle as was de rigeur in the early aughts.
The excitement of a wardrobe refresh right before my favorite season still lingers even though I'm now out of school, as I'm sure it does for so many others. Now that summer is slowing down, fall is on the horizon, and many of you are heading back to school whether it be high school or college. Even if you're not, these outfits will probably still work for you! In fact, they might be more appealing to the late or post-undergrad crowd than anyone younger. Haha!
Here are five outfit ideas to try out this fall, in or out of the classroom.
Pair a ribbed white sweater with distressed black denim shorts, clean white sneakers, and gold coin jewelry.
Style your favorite gray sweater with black skinny jeans and block heel boots, then top it off with a baker boy cap.
For an easy mid-week outfit, try a pair of medium-wash jeans with a simple black blouse, tan ankle boot, and a gold cuff bracelet.
For a clean and comfy look, layer a slouchy gray sweater over a white, lace bralette. Add a pair of white skinny jeans and tan ankle boots to complete the outfit.
End the week on a casual note with white skinny jeans, a graphic tee, white sneakers, and a distressed denim jacket.
