The beginning of the year really has been a slow reading time for me for whatever reason. But on the bright side, I finally got a New York Public Library card so I see a lot more reading on my horizon. I read one book this month and started another that I ended up ditching. However, I'm going on vacation next month so you can expect a much heavier book report at the end of March.

Bonfire by Krysten Ritter
This is a great book for a rainy day when you want something that really entertains and that you can breeze through pretty quickly. It's about an environmental lawyer who travels back to her hometown for a case that is tied to her childhood bullies. While working on the case, she starts to discover things about her old classmates and a dangerous ritual called 'The Game', all while feeling as though she's being sucked back into her traumatic childhood.

BOOKS I DITCHED:

My Absolute Darling by Gabriel Tallent - This was beautifully written, but the subject matter was just too much for me.
