We’re halfway through October, which means Halloween is quickly approaching! I love seeing people go all out with their costumes but honestly, most of us are just looking for something easy and inexpensive to pull off, right? Here are a couple of ideas for chic costumes using items you already have in your closet!

For this classic costume, all you need to buy is a magnifying glass from the costume shop or a home decor store. Pair it with a trench coat, simple white tee, and your favorite wide brim hat.

Pair a dressy white romper with comfortable white sneakers and angel props like a halo headand and wings from the costume store. If you don’t have a white romper, a white dress or just white t-shirt with denim cutoffs will do just fine.

This witch costume relies more on the makeup than the clothes and hair. Pair together your little black dress with a black wide-brim hat, black ankle or high-knee boots, and a cross necklace in silver or gold. To make it more witchy, paint your nails black and get creative with your makeup.

I personally love this costume because it’s nostalgic but also really comfy. The Olsens, particularly Mary-Kate had that distinctive oversized style when she was in college and it’s super easy to replicate. Start with wide leg silk trousers or bell-bottoms, then layer on the oversized sweaters, cardigans, and scarves. Top if off with big sunglasses and a Starbucks cup.

You can literally make a costume out of any cool outfit by adding a black, lace mask. I like the idea of doing a super cool, Haim-inspired look with a biker jacket, black camisole, and distressed boyfriend jeans.
