my cleaning routine + favorite products

Cleaning definitely isn't the first thing that comes to mind when you think of fun blog posts or activities. I'm not going to say it's my favorite thing to do, but I love having a clean, tidy space so it must be done! However, I've created an easy routine that makes cleaning quicker, more efficient, and feels like a calming, luxurious experience.

My routine goes like this:

Start by turning on a good playlist or an interesting podcast to keep my mind occupied. This truly makes the whole process feel even more productive while also turning it into a fun ritual. Then, I'll light a candle in the room I'm cleaning and open the windows to let in some fresh air.

As for the actual cleaning, I always start by tidying everything. Put everything back in its place, throw away things you don't need to keep (cardboard boxes from online deliveries, old receipts, etc.) and straighten up anything that's visible in the room. Next, dust the surfaces and then wipe down. The final step is the deep clean, which is typically done in the bathroom or kitchen. Using these four steps makes the cleaning process feel less overwhelming and helps you get it done quickly and efficiently.

Now, onto the products I love using. I really only use the cleanest products I can find because I want to avoid toxic chemicals in my home. This is why I love Grove Collaborative so much! They're an online marketplace for clean home products that are shipped directly to you each month. Everything you see below can be bought through Grove. This isn't a sponsored post, I sincerely just love using this company and have been using them for years.

Dr. Bronner's Peppermint Castile Soap
This is the ultimate cleaning product that I think everyone should have in their arsenal. It has so many uses and is about the cleanest product you can find. There are several scents, but I'm partial to the peppermint.

Full Circle Grunge Buster Grout and Tile Brush
I never thought I'd say I love a grout brush, but yeah I love this grout brush. It works wonders getting your tiles clean.

Mrs. Meyer's Lavender Surface Scrub
Another great product for tiles, tubs, and sinks is the Mrs. Meyer's surface scrub. It's a dry powder that turns into a paste when wet and it gets your surfaces so clean.

Method Peppermint Glass Cleaner
If I'm being honest, there are several non-toxic glass cleaners on the market that work just as well as this but I always go for this one because it smells so good. The peppermint makes cleaning feel like an aromatherapy experience.

Mrs. Meyer's Dish Soap (lemon verbena, holiday, rosemary)
This is definitely my favorite dish soap. It feels good on your hands and comes in the best scents. I usually go for lemon verbena since it's fresh and clean smelling for the kitchen, but I also like rosemary and the seasonal holiday scent.
