pretty things no. 10

I am so excited about the pieces I'm sharing today! They're definitely splurge pieces but ones that we can take so much inspiration from. Usually this time of year (when the weather isn't so crazy) is marked by transitional pieces that take your wardrobe from winter to spring. Here are a few ideas on my mind for the transition, if it ever comes.

I've been so, so, so into Olivia Culpo's style lately. I feel like her looks really encapsulate the blend of classic and trend that I love. Like many others, she seems to be a big fan of GRLFRND denim. I'm absolutely loving this pair of cropped jeans from the brand. They'd look so cute with ankle boots or Stan Smiths.

Julia featured this Theory moto jacket in one of her recent posts and I think it's just gorgeous. She styled it with a white linen dress, but I think it's super versatile. It'd look just as cute with the cropped GRLFRND jeans and a white tee as it would with an all-black look.

Another cute piece I saw on another blogger recently was this incredible patchwork Tanya Taylor dress. I saw it on Mackenzie and I completely fell in love! First of all, the pattern is so fresh and different and perfect for spring/summer, yet I can also see it working in the fall with black tights and ankle boots. Second, is this not the most flattering cut? It's pulled in at the waist with a bit of a voluminous sleeve that makes your proportions look really good.

I've been a fan of J.W. Anderson for some time now but recently, his work has been incredible. I love the piercing bags he's showing lately, especially this blue suede one. The bags come in several variations but this blue is a great spring color and I like suede for spring to add a bit of heavy texture to otherwise light outfits.

Sticking with J.W. Anderson, how about this swan jumper?! I'm obsessed. It's an intarsia wool sweater which means that, when you look up close, you'll see that the different colors of wool are inlaid with each other to sort of look like a jigsaw puzzle. I love this sweater for a transitional piece because of the spring-y swan juxtaposed with the dark navy wool.

Back to Olivia Culpo. Something she does pretty often is pair cropped jeans with a tall ankle boot. I'm really into that look and think this pair of Raye x Revolve boots are perfect for the job. Just picture them with the GRLFRND jeans! Add a simple, white tee or chunky sweater and you have the easiest, most chic look.
