Let me preface this by saying I've tried a lot of products recently. With the changing temperatures and being in a new city, I've had to revamp my routine a little bit and now I'm planning a transition to all clean products. I'll post more about that when I'm further into the process! Here's what I've tried out lately:
Biologique Recherche P50 Lotion
Totally the opposite of the whole natural beauty thing, right? This toner is iconic for its benefits and its smell (some people say 'burning trash', I say 'chloraseptic' and I actually don't mind the smell). This product does a couple of different things including exfoliating, hydrating, and balancing the skin's pH. I'm slowly incorporating it into my regular weekly skincare routine and can definitely say that it makes my skin look healthier.
Biologique Recherche Serum Complexe Iribiol
This serum meant to target the T-zone specifically and reduce pores while healing acne scarring or breakouts. The formula contains zinc and iris extract. You can use this for a facial massage after your toner or the P50 Lotion.
Biologique Recherche Serum Fluide VIP O2
This is a great serum for underneath the eyes, especially when you look tired. The formula is oxygenating and anti-pollution with lactic acid and silk extracts. Just press it into the skin around your eyes for a fresh glow.
Juice Beauty Cleanser
For some reason, it took me awhile to be convinced to buy this cleanser but I'm so glad I did. It feels like a lotion, so it's super hydrating on dry, winter skin. Plus, the formula is clean so it is not at all irritating on the skin. Love, love, love this cleanser!
First Aid Beauty Ultra Repair Cream
I got an enormous jar of this on sale at Sephora during Black Friday and have been using it ever since. I've liked it enough, although I don't particularly care for the smell. I'd recommend this more as a body cream than for face and it'll be switched out for something clean when I run out.
Mario Badescu Green Tea Facial Mist
I'm a dedicated fan of the Mario Badescu rose water spray but wanted to try something new so I picked up a mini bottle of the green tea mist and really like it! It serves the same purpose as the rose mist but just gives a little something different.
Acure Clarifying Towelettes
This was one of my new forays into the clean swap. I'm obsessed with Sephora's coconut makeup removing wipes and headed to Credo to try to pick up Acure's brightening coconut wipes. They didn't have that particular product, but they did have these clarifiying wipes from the same brand (which I love). They contain zinc licorice root and a bit of salicylic acid to help exfoliate the skin as well as argan oil for moisturizing. It's hard for me to find makeup wipes that don't irritate my face, so these are great!
Lush 'Comforter' Body Wash
You all know I'm a big fan of the Lush Sleepy lotion and this 'Comforter' body wash is a great companion product. It smells so good, like black currant and vanilla plus it puts you in a calm mood which is only enhanced by later using the Sleepy lotion.
Lush 'Ro's Argan' Lotion
Another Lush product I tried was the Ro's Argan lotion. Since I'm trying to save Sleepy for nighttime, I've been using the argan lotion during the day. It's a blend of argan oil, shea butter, and cocoa butter but smells like roses and vanilla.
Moroccanoil Shampoo & Conditioner
My hair has really been uncooperative lately so I picked up a Moroccanoil shampoo and conditioner duo to try to help the situation. I'm still getting really bad cowlicks, but my hair is noticeably softer and easier to work with!
I love the shampoo and conditioner but I love the Moroccanoil Treatment even more. It's a thin oil you apply to your hair when wet and it helps it to dry faster but also leaves your hair super soft and silky.
Drybar Texas Tea Volumizing Hair Spray
I love all things Drybar, so it's no surprise I'm a fan of the Texas Tea volumizing spray. You just spritz this on your roots when your hair is damp and it helps to give your hair volume as it air dries or under the blow dryer. Plus, it smells really good.
Maybelline Dream BB Fresh (110 Light/Medium)
I'm almost out of my It Cosmetics CC cream and I wanted to get something a little less expensive to hold me over so I tried this drugstore BB cream from Maybelline. I'm going to be honest, I won't buy this again. I don't usually like much coverage, but I felt like this gave no coverage at all and totally melted off the skin after no time at all.
I'd been wanting to try Cocofloss for the longest time but couldn't justify paying for shipping on a container of floss, so I ended up finding it at Credo. I got the coconut flavor, of course, but it also comes in delicious mint, strawberries, cara cara orange, and peppermint. This really does make me want to floss more, which is ridiculous but at least it works!
