Happy Saturday! I wanted to try a little something different with weekend lists going forward by adding two new pieces in addition to sharing my favorite links. I thought I'd make things a little more personal by sharing my highs and lows from the week (something my best friend and I do during our weekly dinners) as well as what's been going on and what's coming up in my life. What do you guys have going on? Let me know!
Weirdly enough, my high and low is the same thing. I’m in a transitional period between jobs, which was unexpected but I’m really excited to see what opportunities I have next. I enjoyed where I was working and not having the stability now, out of nowhere, is a little jarring but it was likely a blessing in disguise because there were also things about it that didn’t work super well with my personality. Now, I get to move on to something that works better for the lifestyle I’m trying to build! So, that’s exciting.
This past week, I tried out a hot yoga class at a new studio with a new friend that I actually met through Bumble BFF! If you've recently moved to a new city or are just finding that it's not easy to meet friends after college, I highly recommend trying out Bumble BFF. I just started using it randomly about two weeks ago and have already met some really cool girls! Neither of us had done hot yoga recently (it's been about a year and a half for me) and we both thought it was such a funny way to meet someone for the first time, being drenched in sweat and all.
Coming up in the next few weeks or so, I'm working on ticking items off my fall to-do list. I'm also going up to Jacksonville for my nephew's football game and to do a walkthrough of my brother's wedding venue since I'm helping out with the planning phase. So exciting!
Loved this essay about finding yourself through travel.
Vox posted a great list of Fall 2018 films to look forward to. I've already been getting excited for many of them, but now I'm intrigued by Hale County This Morning, This Evening.
Don't you just love Lamia's vintage style?
Jess shared the ten authentic Chinese dishes everyone should try. It made me want a hot bowl of congee and a bao bun from Morimoto!
Kaitlyn Bristowe's podcast interview with esthetician Elisabeth Smith was so good! Lots of good information on skincare, injectables, and the like.
I always love The Ardent Biblio's literary dinners. This one was inspired by A Midsummer Night's Dream!
If you're looking for a cozy drink, try Ashley's homemade pumpkin spice syrup in your latte this weekend!
