Happy Saturday! It’s our last weekend before heading into October and I couldn’t be more excited. For us fall lovers, October and November really are the prime months of the year. I can’t wait to make applejack brandy sangria and watch You’ve Got Mail!
Starting with my low with the intention of ending things on a positive note. I often enjoy following along with politics but following the senate judiciary committee’s hearings this week has been frustrating and scary. Luckily, the outcome was not nearly as bad as I expected, so we’ll see. Another thing that bothered me this week was the new Céline (yes, I refuse to get rid of the accent) collection with Hedi Slimane as head designer. Honestly, I hated it and it basically threw away everything women loved about Phoebe Philo’s legacy. I second everything in Fashionista’s review.
My high is just all of the time I’ve been getting to spend on creative pursuits and getting in touch with all of my passions in order to figure out what that next move is. When you’re trying to figure out what you want to do, I think the best course of action is to simply get up and go do things you like. That way, you’ll be in alignment with yourself and your next move will become more clear. So, with that…
I’ve been spending a lot of time on my various passions. I’ve been going to hot yoga classes, watching films, reading lots of books, listening to my favorite motivational and business podcasts, painting watercolors, cooking and baking lots of autumnal recipes, working on writing projects, and so on.
Something I’ve really been enjoying is Garden & Gun’s newly released Southern Food issue. This magazine is one that always leaves me feeling really inspired and passionate about where I live and that’s especially true with this issue. All of the food featured looks amazing, but I’ve been especially moved by the feature on Andre Leon Talley. You just have to read it.
As for things coming up, I have a lot of fun fall activities and food to look forward to. Also, after a few invitations from friends, I’m thinking about doing a little road trip across the South. Potentially Charleston, Charlotte, and Richmond. We’ll see! Could be fun if I have the right playlist, although who knows if I can handle sitting in a car that long. 😅
