the weekend list no. 47

Happy Saturday!

So many highs these past two weeks! Last weekend was my brother’s wedding, which was definitely the biggest high. My mom and I arranged all of the flowers, which is something I love doing and I also did the photography along with another girl. All-in-all, it was such a cozy, fun weekend celebrating them.

Another high was getting a new brand partnership for the next three months that I’m really excited about. Definitely keep your eyes peeled for those posts coming up here and on my Instagram. Also, my friend bought us tickets for the Ariana Grande concert next May and we seriously got the best seats. I also booked my hotels for my London/Amsterdam trip in May, so that month is going to be so much fun.

I also got a great deep tissue massage recently which was so good. Beforehand, I swam in the nautilus pool at the spa and laid in a heated salt lounger for awhile. I have this chronic face pain because I hold all of my tension in my neck and shoulders, so I really needed this massage. I’ve had plenty of them before, but had never done a deep tissue. It was definitely one of those things that hurt, but felt amazing at the same time.

Lows are few and far between lately, but I certainly didn’t enjoy having my feet attacked by fire ants! So there’s that.

I’m working on holiday content for the next two months and am really excited about it. I really don’t like how consumerist blogs become for the holidays and I’ve heard a lot of people give similar feedback, so I’m making sure to go in a different direction. I posted my holiday gift guide this week and likely won’t be sharing another, other than maybe a few suggestions here and there as I see cute ideas pop up.

Another thing is that I don’t want my holiday content to be focused on portraying an idea of perfection around the holidays. It’s all going to be real, attainable, cozy, and focused on enjoying the season for what it is, rather than focused on buying a ton of stuff to achieve some false idea of Instagram perfection.

Another fun thing is that I found this girl on YouTube who has created three reading challenges based on the N.E.W.T.s and O.W.Ls from the Harry Potter series. I’m doing the O.W.L challenge where you pick five subjects and, in order to “pass the exam”, you read a book for each category. I’m doing Charms, Herbology, Muggle Studies, History of Magic, and Transfiguration. I’ll do an update in this month’s book report post!
