PSA: Winter Storm Preparation

Any minute now, the east coast of the U.S. will be barraged with some exponential amount of snow so I'm mentally preparing myself to be trapped in my apartment and burrowed beneath an electric blanket for the next few days. I'm thinking of ways to build makeshift snowshoes so that I can trek across the street to drink wine and watch The Bachelor with my nearest friend. Right now, everyone is complaining but I'm keeping my mouth shut because I'm existing in a state of winter wonderland bliss wearing Bean Boots and admiring all of the old stone buildings covered in snow. Though, in the back of my mind, I wonder how many days I'll spend inside before I'm hitting my front door with a stale baguette screaming, "Here's Johnny!"

As we begin to prepare for the snow storm, all I can find online is recommendations to stock up on bread, milk, and---I kid you not---corned beef in a can. The list of things that I would rather do than eat corned beef from a can is harrowing and long. Why go out of your way to make yourself miserable when there is a whole grocery store at your fingertips? If we're going to be stuck at home, let's do it right.

Freedom by Jonathan Franzen - A relatively long read that is engaging and sort of mimics the concept of the Russian family novel.
My Brilliant Friend by Elena Ferrante - The first of the series set in Naples.
The Children's Book by A.S. Byatt - A magical, sort-of dark, English country house story.
The Secret History by Donna Tartt - One of my favorites and my go-to for cold weather.

Byredo | Chanel | SK-II | Living Proof

Take advantage of your time at home with a full lineup of winter body maintenance. First, warm up with vetiver and bergamot in a Bal d'Afrique bath. Next, choose a movie from the list above then give yourself a warm, winter manicure. For this, I'll be using my favorite polish---Chanel Vamp. Then, you'll want to multitask with a good sheet mask and hair treatment to inject some moisture into your presumably dry, winter existence.
